Dzi – Material, Substance and Motifs
According to scientific studies from Japan and China, dzis categorized as antique (100 years and above) contain materials of ancient pure Tibetan Jadeite (white and red jade, vastly used), Fire Agate, Chalcedony, Himalayan minerals (for treatment) and meteorite substance. Antique dzis are notable by the appearance of weathering marks, irregular minuscule holes, forming of ‘eye' shape, natural scaly surface, and slight chipping sometimes. Mysteriously, the cosmic energy. natural magnetic field of antique Dzis is the strongest. The older it is, the more easier you can feel its energy with your bare hands.
The small red spots as you can see on the dzi are the cinnabar dots, you can survey them by 10X or 20X magnifier. Some cinnabar dots can be seen by naked eyes, but they are very rare and that's why they are so precious. The cinnabar dots are natural and developed from inside out, not just cohered on the surface. Dzi with cinnabar dots are highly revered and rare.
New Tibetan dzis (50 years below) on the other hand, are made from agate, chalcedony and melted jade, hence they should be handmade by Tibetan chosen families and monasteries.
The energy wave for dzi is 13 volts, 3 times more than crystals but is very gentle and pure for everyone, even children to wear. The motif/design on the dzi is according to eon old explanation passed down by many generations.
