Hotel Sidi Driss didn't have much going for it pre-1977. Built centuries ago by Berber tribesmen who dug a hole in the North African desert in which to hide from their enemies,it's 40 km from civilisation.Then George Lucas decided to use it as the home of Luke Sky walker and his uncle and aunt on the planet of Tatooine. For Rm 35 a night, you can kip in the room where the family check out the surrounding sand igloos, built for the movie, but now inhabited by the less than Jedi locals.
